This course provides students with basic knowledge and skills in medium and heavy-duty truck maintenance. Safety, inspections, and hands-on practice are emphasized. Close overview of CHP and DOT safety and maintenance inspection format and records filing. Introduction to electric heavy-duty vehicle systems and inspection. Field trips may be required. Four (4) high school elective credits will be awarded if a student passes the course with a minimum grade of 70%. Upon completion of VAUTO 670, students will earn credit for DETT 181 through the credit by exam process. (Note: To be successful in this class, a students need good command of the English language, good basic math skills, and good verbal communication ability)
